Carbon Clinics
Why our Carbon Clinic workshops are the perfect springboard to reach net zero
Informed, confident, motivated, inspired.
Those are just some of the words Oh Yes! members used to describe how they felt after attending one of our Carbon Clinic workshops.
Delivered by Oh Yes! member and local decarbonisation consultancy BACB Renewables, the workshop guides organisations step-by-step through the calculation process and helps them find solutions to challenges.
One hundred per cent of participants said they would recommend the workshop to others.
We recently spoke to a trio of members – GTS Logistics UK, Forward & Thinking and Beverley Leisure Homes – to hear about their experiences.
A respectful, no pressure environment
“It helped us put in place stepping stones, keeping things real, and helped us understand the little things we can do each day that will make a difference. It’s about continuous improvement.”
Kate Prescott
Commercial Administrator, GTS Logistics UK
GTS Logistics UK is making waves as the Humber’s go-to green logistics company.
Whether it’s rail, road or sea, the East Yorkshire-based business provides sustainable, reliable transport solutions to leading brands including Aldi, M&S and Biscuit International.
Managing Director Tony Prescott and Commercial Administrator Kate Prescott attended our Carbon Clinic workshop to understand the next steps the company can take to reduce its own carbon footprint.
“The workshop was done in a respectful, no-pressure environment,” Kate said.
“It wasn’t a one-size-fits-all approach – it was about our business and what we can realistically do to reduce our carbon footprint.
“It helped us put in place stepping stones, keeping things real, and helped us understand the little things we can do each day that will make a difference. It’s about continuous improvement.”
GTS Logistics is at the heart of an exciting transformation of the transport and logistics sectors.
The business has set its sights on 75 per cent of its supply chain activity being moved to rail or sea in the next three years. Adopting intermodal methods, reducing the reliance on road, could save as much as 70 per cent of CO2 emissions.
After attending one of our workshops, GTS Logistics can track a clearer route as it tackles its own Scope 1, 2 and 3 footprint.
Carbon Clinic workshops have helped dozens of Oh Yes! members create a Carbon Reduction Plan.
‘I thought I would be out of my depth … but that wasn’t the case!’
Advertising agency Forward & Thinking is well-versed when it comes to amplifying its clients’ strategies – from social media and TV, to billboards and buses.
To take its own sustainability story to the next level, Forward & Thinking signed up for one of our Carbon Clinic workshops, gaining expert advice and support on how to reduce its carbon footprint.
Emily Redpath is the Media Planning Manager at the advertising agency, as well as one of the company’s dedicated Eco Ambassadors.
After discovering Oh Yes! Net Zero on social media, Forward & Thinking signed up to better understand where the company was at on its route to net zero.
After a sense of initial trepidation, Emily said the experience was transformative.
“When I started researching for the workshop, I went down a black hole and was worried I would be out of my depth.
“When I got there, I found the session was relatable and everything was presented in a way which was understandable and empathetic.
“It was a relaxed environment and everyone had the time and attention they needed to work on their carbon reduction plan.”
Real-life examples, no jargon
For almost a decade, Beverley Leisure Homes has manufactured high-quality, bespoke holiday homes from its site in Tickton, East Yorkshire.
With the company’s factories powered by an on-site solar farm, and rooftop PV, Beverley Leisure Homes is exploring carbon reduction solutions in its production processes, and driving behavioural changes across its team.
Christine Eyre is Beverley Leisure Homes’ Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, with three key focuses – people, planet and community.
“As a business like ours, having access to a resource like that really is invaluable.”

Having made good early progress to understand its carbon footprint, Beverley Leisure Homes signed up for a Carbon Clinic workshop to gain professional expertise on the next steps to take.
Christine said: “The team at BACB Renewables take what is a very complex subject and break it down into bitesize chunks. They used real-life examples, with no jargon, and helped us produce a clear plan of what we need to do next.
“For someone who knew very little about measuring your carbon impact, and implementing a strategy to reduce it, it gave me the confidence to move forwards.
“As a business like ours, having access to a resource like that really is invaluable.”
A safe, supportive environment
In the last 12 months, Oh Yes! Net Zero has delivered 10 Carbon Clinic workshops.
More than 30 organisations have attended, with 17 of those having since created an outline carbon reduction plan.
At the workshop, we provide a template and suggest ideas to begin creating your organisation’s carbon reduction plan, along with helping you to identify actions tailored to your organisation.
Our small group workshop offers a safe and supportive environment for asking questions. Plus, the BACB Renewables team will be on hand to answer any questions about renewable technology for your organisation.
